Ten years of digital photos

Original: 10 лет моей digital photo

I've just realised that about ten years ago I picked up a digital camera for the first time. That's it: an Epson Photo PC600. One megapixel. Today that seems laughable even for a phone, but back then few people could imagine taking pictures without film :)

I took most of my shots at 640 × 480, because the card that came with it held only 4 MB, and a spare CompactFlash card cost about half as much as the camera, which was itself very expensive at the time. I still have every photo I took with it, and my digital archive begins in 1998. The pictures are what you'd expect: classmates, friends, my school, even a few of me.

P.S. Here's the funny part. A friend from Taiwan, whom I've known for over two years, was working on the design and production of that very Epson Photo PC600 at the time, in a faraway, high-tech country. Small world :)
