Original: iCamp 2009

A week ago I went to iCamp 2009, held somewhere unusual and a long way from Moscow: the Etnomir cultural and educational centre. This was its second year, and it brings together internet projects and investors looking for promising ideas and startups to back. It was a fun event, I must say. As usual, the best photos are below.

This is what the paths look like inside Etnomir. Wherever possible they've laid wooden boardwalks, so walking is easy and your shoes stay clean.

Etnomir is built around the traditional ways of life of different peoples. I'm not much of a fan of that, so the scenery didn't do a lot for me.

Softcloud's presentation was combined with a contest for the best SaaS app idea.

Here's A-TAK, an online PR agency, presenting.

Evgeny Pavlov talking about innovation in automated car safety.

Tradition again: boardwalks over the grass.

Semacodes in a field, for the most tech-savvy participants.

Lovely views at sunset.

The night barcamp, with interactive games and discussions of interesting projects.

The day ended around a big bonfire in the middle of the camp.

That's about it. There's not much to add. For me it was a trip out of town and a chance to talk to interesting people, and on that score it worked: I made new contacts and had good conversations about web services with some very savvy people.
